Glade House
Staffed around the clock, Glade House offers residents
a safe, drug and alcohol free supportive communal living
environment. More the ninety percent of Glade House residents
suffer from substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
Recognizing that individuals recover at varying rates,
Glade House offers a four stage approach to help meet
the complex needs of residents.
Stage
I is designed for current users and offers off-site
detoxification followed by at least 30 days of comprehensive
off-site inpatient treatment; this includes substance
abuse education, NA and/or AA, and individual and group
counseling with a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
(CADC). Residents also receive case management from a
therapeutic team of professionals and other supporters.
Upon successful completion, the Stage I program is designed
to allow participants to easily matriculate into the next
phase of Glade House programming.
Stage
II provides intensive out-patient (IOP) services
to residents. While residing at Glade House, Stage II
residents commute daily to an off-site facility to participate
in programs that strengthen their efforts to remain drug
and/or alcohol free. They are also provided intensive
case management and are required to attend AA and/or NA
meetings daily.
Stage III offers
a less structured supportive living community where participants
are not required to receive off-site recovery treatment.
However, residents in this stage must participate in a
self-designed program that includes AA and/or NA and promotes
sobriety.
Stage IV is a stand
alone program. An individual can actually enter Glade
House and move directly in to Stage IV. All Stage II,
III, and IV residents are required to participate in a
weekly Glade House community meeting, dinner, life skills
courses, and group therapy. Stage II, III, and IV residents
are also required to receive intensive case management,
which includes weekly contact and at least two monthly
face to face home visits with the Glade House Program
Manager. Stage III and IV residents are also required
to complete chores, plan and cook a weekly community dinner
(on rotation), and work, attend school or volunteer in
the community.
Glade House also offers all residents mental health services
through community partners, which includes mental health
assessments, weekly on-site individual counseling provided
by a CADC and group therapy facilitated by a Licensed
Certified Social Worker. All Glade House programs are
available to each resident upon request and /or based
upon the recommendation of House of Ruth staff and its
community partners. Glade House residents also have access
to the benefits and services available to individual House
of Ruth housing program clients.
