Glade House
is a communal living residence for up to ten men living with HIV/AIDS.
Glade House provides semi-private living, food, community meals, community
meetings, support for recovery from addictions, and easy access to the
downtown medical centers. Residents have private bedrooms but share
other facilities such as bathrooms, kitchen, laundry facilities, and
community areas. In exchange for residence at Glade House, residents
contribute 30% of their income, whatever that may be.
Glade House is a home where residents can work on independent living
skills, which give residents an opportunity to become independent in
a supportive, caring environment with other residents facing similar
issues. Glade House offers the possibility of stabilization, regular
meals, and community living to persons seeking successful, dignified
living in the face of HIV/AIDS.
Glade House works in coordination with other agencies such as VOA Stop
Program, the Kentucky Care Coordinator Program, and Seven Counties,
to provide needed services and support for residents.
There is a two-part assessment and admissions process for possible
residency into Glade House. One assessment is with the Glade House Manager
and the second is with the VOA Stop Program (chemical/alcohol assessment).
Participation in the process does not guarantee admission into Glade
House. For more information about the House of Ruth Glade Housing Program
call 502-587-5080.
